It is an unfortunate fact that most people do not have large bathrooms. That is the reason that we have decided to help you along the way to finding the best small bathroom ideas. Using them will help you get a more homely feel and a more beautiful half bathroom.
Usually, the thought of making a small bathroom lovely is a daunting task. You may feel like there is not a lot that you can do with it. Or worse still, you paint it, leave it and think you will come back to it in the future. However, with the right guidance and ideas, you can have a bathroom that you wouldn’t want any other way.
Take a look through our ideas, and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
First of all, we are going to take a look at the tiniest of the tiny, small half bathrooms. The can, in some cases, be super small. In the situations where you have one, they can quickly become a neglected room, and you end up only using it as a storage room for cleaning supplies. However, that is not what you want.
In this next image, you will see one of the smallest types of these rooms. That’s why I thought that this would be a great example.
As you can see, there is not a lot of room for any fancy decor or extras. But that is the principle that you need to hold on to throughout. Do not overthink it. Try not to clutter. The best thing that you can do in rooms like this is to empty it and start from scratch.
Here are a couple of bullet points that you may want to think about while you are revamping your half bathroom:
When you have one of these small bathrooms, you may not want to have too much of the space taken up by the sink. And who could blame you? Not us. Therefore, take a look at the sink that we have found to fit perfectly into your tiny bathroom.
As you can see, this sink would be a fantastic upgrade to a tiny bathroom. The corners of bathrooms are often underutilized; however, this sink makes perfect use of it. Not only does it use a space that is otherwise pretty redundant, but it is also smaller than the average sink. The size of it will only add to the feel of space in a small bathroom.
If you do not have a corner available to you, for whatever reason, then take a look at this next sink.
The size of this sink will not be much larger than the corner one. The great thing about both of these sinks, other than the size, is the available space below them. You can easily use this space by adding cupboards or toilet roll holders, etc.
But, let’s get back into looking at small bathrooms in a whole.
So, as I was saying, there are certain factors that you need to think of when you are designing a small bathroom. In this section, we are going to look at small bathrooms, instead of half bathrooms.
And, as you can see, this next image is of quite a tiny bathroom. However, as I will explain, the use of the space is quite ingenious.
One of my favorite features about this design is the nooks included in the walls. They are likely to have been cut out of the plasterboard and tiled to make them waterproof. That gives you quite a lot of shelf room without the shelves sticking out into the room and taking up space. Although you may not think that shelves take up much space, in a place this small, you will undoubtedly know that you have to move around them.
Another great use of space is the cupboard under the sink. This use of space is certainly not as revolutionary as the shelves in the wall, but it is still a great use of space.
This next image is of one not quite so small, but there are still some great ideas to utilize in a small bathroom.
As I mentioned in the bullet points above, keeping the colors bright have given this room a sense of space. That sense of space would not be there if it were a darker room. Another great idea they have used is, although it is multi-purpose, are the shiny tiles next to the wall. They reflect the light, making the room feel airier.
If you are not a fan of the lighter and brighter, modern style that we have looked at so far, take a look at these rustic styles for your bathroom. Wood will always give a more rustic feel to your bathrooms, and any room in the house. Take a look at how the designer has used it here:
As you can see, the older, darker style of wood that they have added on the walls, along with the color matching floor tiles give this bathroom an automatic rustic feel. The other features in this bathroom that complete the rustic feel are the shower fittings. Although they are probably still stainless steel, they have been coated to look like cast iron. Also, the use of corner shelves in this bathroom give it extra storage that wouldn’t be available.
This next image is a slightly brighter rustic look. The faux beams set off the look fantastically. While the reclaimed wood bath paneling, floor, and door only add to the rustic appeal.
The use of white walls and beams are what give this the allure of an older look though. The other thing that the white does is keeps the room light, and will even reflect the sunlight to brighten up the room even more.
Small bathrooms are often a difficult task to get right. However, there are a few things that, if you do them correctly, will help you gain a sense of space and brightness. The points that you should take away from this article are the following:
Do not let the size of your bathroom be an offputting factor. Make the most of your small bathroom, and give it a large personality.
