Efficiently removes pet hair

The Shark Rotator TruePet is specifically designed for larger homes with all sorts of messes, big and small. Thanks to the powerful suction and Shark’s original motor, the vacuum can clean anything from hardwood floors to area rugs.

Since it’s marketed for pet owners, the Shark Lift-Away NV752 has specific features for cleaning pet hair from all surfaces, such as the floors and the furniture. Plus, it has HEPA filters to remove the allergens and dust particles that accompany pet hair.

Being one of the most expensive Shark vacuum cleaners out there, the Lift-Away has garnered some interest from the buyers.

Thus, I decided to review it to check if it really performs as well as promised. Keep reading the review to find out if the vac actually gives you clean floors or is just a hyped appliance.

Unboxing and Setup: Instructions for Tools Could’ve Been Better

Overall, the vacuum cleaner is easy to assemble. However, when it comes to the attachments, the instructions are either too vague or unavailable. The motorized brush is the only accessory for which you’ll find instructions in the manual.

Other than that, the manual does a poor job of explaining what other accessories do. Also, the function and installation of some attachments are entirely missing from the manual.

For most people who have used a Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away TruePet, this shouldn’t be much of a problem. But if you’re a first-timer, you’ll need to watch a video tutorial online to set up this appliance.

The vacuum comes with a ‘quick start guide,’ which is a breeze to follow. Again, the overall installation process is simple, but you may face some trouble while attaching the accessories.

Design: Mixed Opinions

As for the design, the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away vacuum will either sit well with your needs or be a nuisance. Unfortunately, there’s no in-between. Rather, you have to choose the vac according to your particular requirements. Let me explain how.

On the whole, the design is pretty impressive. The vacuum has an above-floor mode that allows you to remove the handle from the wand and clean the overhead surfaces. Besides, the Lift-Away mode lets you capture dirt from all areas without reducing the motor’s power.

Moreover, the vacuum comes with fingertip controls, making it easy to turn it on and off in a single push of a button. Also, there are plenty of attachments, including a motorized brush and a multi-pet tool.

To add, the vacuum is built so that you can hang all the attachments on it. Thus, there’s no need to create extra storage for the cleaning tools.

However, the design falls short in some regards. Although it does a great job, the brush roll isn’t quite durable. Also, it’s not self-cleaning, so you’ll have to clean it manually every time you use it.

Even worse, it’s hard to find a replacement in the market. Also, the cord is awkwardly placed, making it difficult for you to maneuver the vacuum through tight spaces. However, it’s a plus that the cord is 30 feet, so you can take it almost everywhere.

The top part of the appliance is quite heavy. Therefore, it poses trouble when you try to push the vac under the furniture. When you’re using the wand, the machine tends to topple over.

Another issue is the limited reach. When you try to extend the hose over five feet, there’s some resistance. In short, this is not the vac for cleaning your ceilings or above the kitchen counters.

Performance and Suction: No complaints at All

The Shark Vacuum works well on all surfaces. You can use it to clean the bare floor or pick up pet hair from the carpet and hard floor. However, when you’re cleaning a small or low pile rug, I’d suggest using the vac at the lowest setting.

Otherwise, it would suck the carpet up too unlike a high pile carpet vacuum.

While the suction is incredible, a slightly disappointing thing is the lack of a suction release valve. Since this valve is present on most Shark appliances, even the low-end ones, I expected the Shark NV752 to have it too.

However, it lacks this functionality. Thus, you cannot fully control the suction. I’d suggest using the vac in its lowest settings, the hard floor setting when vacuuming rugs or doormats.

Moreover, the powerhead has an excellent brush pattern that leaves the carpets fluffier than ever. It’s a fantastic feature for pet parents who’re concerned about their carpets looking frayed.

Along with the floors and carpets, the vacuum does a great job of cleaning the couch and upholstery. If your pup likes to sit on the sofa, I’d suggest using the Shark Rotator’s motorized pet brush to make your sofa hair-free.

The motorized brush attachment is spectacular for cleaning pet hair from all surfaces. It picks up even the smallest hair, thanks to the internal turbines and powerful suction.

Since the Shark Rotator has a well-engineered brush design, it deep cleans carpets easily. Besides cleaning the floors, the brush roll also gives them a polished finish.

Again, I’d have to stress that the brush roll isn’t too dependable. It starts fraying in a few uses, and you’d have to be careful about its maintenance if you want it to last long.

Filters: Pathogens Are a Thing of Yesterday

The Shark Rotator  NV752 comes with anti-allergen complete seal technology and a HEPA filter. It will remove even the smallest dust particles and allergens from your home.

While most low-end vacuums only have general cleaning filters, the Shark Rotator has HEPA filters. These filters are designed to remove 99.99% dust from your home, making the air easier to breathe in.

Besides, they also remove allergens present in your pet’s hair or in the dust attached to the under soles of your shoes.

Another notable feature of the vacuum is the complete seal technology. It does not allow the trapped allergens or dust to move out of the vacuum. That’s why I’d suggest emptying the container outside the home to release the allergens in the external environment.

Accessories: A blessing

The pet power brush does a remarkable job of cleaning pet hair from your carpets, bare floors, upholstery, and the stairs. It removes the tiniest pet hair that you can’t even spot with your naked eye.

If pet hair is a huge concern in the house, consider getting this vac. After capturing the pet hair and the allergens or dander attached to them, the vac passes them through the 99.9% effective HEPA filtration system. As a result, no allergen is released back into the air.

Using the fingertip controls on the vacuum, you can switch to pet power brush mode easily. It’s much easier to clean the pillows, upholstery, and stairs in this mode than the upright mode.

Moreover, the vac comes with a crevice tool, which lets you get into hard to reach areas. Besides, it’s suitable for cleaning pet hair from the car seats and patio furniture.

You also get a pet power brush, which is ideal for light dusting if you’re not in a mood for thoroughly cleaning the house. Although not a tool, the LED headlights on the vacuum are a great addition to the appliance.

You’d be surprised at how much better you can see with the headlights. Often, the dirt camouflages with the wood floors, and it’s easy to miss it. However, with the headlights on, you wouldn’t miss a single dust particle.

Price: Worth It if You Want the Best Cleaning Power

The Shark Rotator is undoubtedly on the pricier side, but it’s worth the investment if you want your home environment to be safe for allergy-sufferers.

While most other vacs only clean, this one actually leaves the air fresher and cleaner to breathe in. That’s something you won’t get in a $100 vacuum.

Along with the multiple cleaning tools, additional features like the LED headlights make this vacuum worth the price.

However, if you’re merely looking for a vacuum to keep the house clean, without any concern of pet hair or allergens, you can search for a cheaper Shark model.

Competition: Less Pricey Options Available

EUREKA RapidClean Pro Lightweight Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

If the Shark Rotator NV752 does not fit your budget, you can opt for the Eureka RapidClean cordless vacuum cleaner. Since it’s a cordless vacuum, it won’t pose the design issues that the Rotator does. Also, it runs for up to 40 minutes, which is sufficient for cleaning a moderate-sized home.

While the Rotator is a bit hard to move under furniture due to its heavier top, the RapidClean has a well-thought-out design. The dust cup is on the front, allowing the vac to lay fully flat under the bed or table.

Plus, it has LED headlights, just like the Shark Rotator. However, the vacuum is not well-balanced and can tip over if it stands without support. Also, there is no specialized pet brush.
